Student Successes

Gwen (41).JPG

All of our lives have been hugely disrupted over the past year or so, which makes me that much prouder of how committed my students have been.

After the first lockdown, we managed some in person lessons, but most of them have been over Zoom which has been challenging for us all. Despite all this, every single one of my students have developed in different ways: learning a wide breadth of new pieces; opening themselves to new musical experiences through online workshops; braving the competition circuit; and elevating their performing capabilities through intensive exam recording sessions.

From Grade 2 to Grade 7, my students had huge successes and they should all be proud of all they’ve achieved. In addition, a couple of my student competed in the VAYA International Music Festival and received Gold and Silver certificates, with Khyati also receiving a special award of ‘Promising Player’ in her category. You can see their performances here:

Though the summer holidays are almost upon us, I hope none of my students keep away from the harp too much… playing even a tiny bit every day makes it that much easier on our fingers – and hopefully it will help us all remember to keep those lovely harps of ours in tune too!
